The Black Star Alliance was not the force it was from the beginning. The Black Star Smugglers, led by Garyn Sait, was a small yet formidable elite group of smugglers that accepted contracts from the various crime lords, senators, and even the Rebel Alliance. Garyn Sait met with the other leaders of the various smuggling rings of the galaxy and formed the alliance known as the Black Star Alliance, which would become the largest smuggler alliance in the galaxy, and a formidable enemy of the Empire.
Garyn Sait, perhaps the best smuggler in the galaxy in his time, was captured in an Imperial Ambush in the Ison Corridor while awaiting a contact for his load of contraband. The Black Star's former leader remained true to his men and died keeping the secrets of the Black Star from the Empire. The Alliance then met and after much debating appointed Garyn's second-in-command, Aeolan Kicka, a hotshot pilot with a wild attitude, as the leader of the Black Star Alliance. Aeolan proved to be the leader the Alliance needed, outsmarting the Empire at every turn and recruiting even more small smuggling rings into the large alliance.
Today, the Black Star Alliance has secured a large hold on many of the various criminal dealings of the galaxy and have made an enemy of The Eclipse Syndicate who battles the Black star at every turn trying to gain an advantage over their enemies.
