The Rules
At Star Wars: Redemption, we hope to keep the rules somewhat easy to follow, and laid back. However, in the event that someone does break the rules, we will come down hard.
We go by a four chances rule:
Strike One: A warning.
Strike Two: Second warning, 24-hour suspension.
Strike Three: A more severe warning followed by a one-week suspension.
Strike Four: A permanent Ban.
The Rules are as such:
1)No God-moding!
We cannot stress this one enough. Characters need some level of realism. A normal human cannot breathe in vacuum, nor can he regrow a normal limb. He can, however, wear a breath mask with a limited oxygen supply, or get a cybernetic replacement limb.
This is always a tough rule to enforce. If the player is a Jedi Master, facing off against a battalion of Stormtroopers, he MIGHT escape unscathed. However, a lone smuggler with a broken leg and no weaponry of any kind would have a bit more trouble, right?
2) No clones!
Well, clones are allowed, however there are strict rules to this. You cannot have a clone unless you have a lengthy thread that has the clone being raised and taught, etc. The clone will NOT have the same memories, and may not have all the abilities as the host.
3) Be fair!
Don't kill another players character without their consent.
4) Don't confuse the READER's knowledge with the CHARACTER's knowledge.
Just because you read in a characters post that they are going to Mustafar in secret, doesn't mean your character will know that, unless he has some way of finding this out, via tracking devices, etc.
This also goes for "Secret Bases". If the Sith Order has a hidden base, the Jedi will not know about it, unless they find it somehow. (and try not to make it too coincidental).
5) You cannot track a character without a trail!
If you are a Bounty Hunter searching for their target, you cannot magically pull their location out of thin air. However, if their "Last Seen Location" was in Mos Eisley Cantina, one could go ask the bartender if the target mentioned where they were headed. (If the player being tracked DID NOT mention his/her destination near the bartender, the bartender wouldn't be able to answer. But maybe the tracker could check the starport security cameras to find a facial ID match, find out what ship they are using, and when they left, etc... Be creative, have fun with it.
6) You don't have a spy network!
Unless you are part of the underworld, and even then, they are not exact. If you have a spy dispatched in a system where a player is in hiding, mention it beforehand. You are not allowed to claim "The Jedi attacked the Sith Base because their spies had somehow discovered their location blah blah..." This will result in a deleted post.
7) Language and Content.
This one we will try a somewhat more free approach. you can swear (within reason!) and have most content you wish (again, within reason!). This includes violence, sexual subjectivity, etc.
If you wish to have a more explicit (in terms of sexuality, language, violence, anything), please post in OOC at the top of the thread, that the thread will contain [insert content here].
That way those uncomfortable with it can steer clear.
But, instead of swearing, try to be a bit more creative. In the Star Wars Universe, you won't hear too many blatant swear words.
Try to be creative and use slang to get your point across.
Example: "You f**king idiot!"
Can be changed to: "You kriffing idiot!"
8) Request!
You cannot just pop up out of nowhere, with a new character that owns a massive fleet and a star system and millions of credits. Superweapons, large-scale fleets, organizations with thousands of people, credits (Over twenty thousand), and star systems and planets must be requested and approved by a moderator or admin before being included in the RP. Unless you are doing a solo thread (in which case you will have to still make a request about what you wish to have in the story).
If you are making an organization or group, it cannot suddenly have thousands of members, unless the character that runs it posts about gathering followers/members/employees and such.
9) No Canon!
This is a Star Wars RP. What this means is that we are not going to use any Canon characters. As this RP stakes place 150 years after the fall of the Empire, we will allow mention of the Canon in history, meaning our characters can learn about Luke Skywalker and the Death Star, about the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi Purge, etc. This does not mean your character is allowed to be chums with Han Solo, he was not in the Battle Of Endor, and he never dueled Darth Vader. What it does mean, is that we have a consistent and relatively simple history for the Galaxy. The death of the canon characters and such are going to remain fuzzy, and it would be wise to steer clear of any mention of such events. They should not be important in your RP anyway.
10) RP boards are for RP!
Please refrain from posting OOC materials in the RP boards. An OOC notice is allowed if its an issue or question regarding a previous post, but we ask that players try to keep it brief. Any large issues should be posted on the OOC Boards.
Videos, large pictures (unless its to help set the tone, setting, or display a character) and other items should be kept off the boards as much as possible. Also, try to use images in moderation, we would rather not have the RP threads covered in photos and such.
11) Don't View or Post Pad!
View Padding is when a player continuously reloads a thread, increasing the amount of views by a large number. It is not a huge issue, but it is annoying and rude. Players doing so will be caught and punished for it.
Post padding is much more irritating. Post padding is when a player posts a thread and spams it with their own replies, in an attempt to get their rank up by having large numbers of posts. Players doing this will be suspended immediately.
12) This site believes in Wookieepedia!
This means that all abilities, vehicles, powers, items, etc. must be in the Wookieepedia Databanks, or otherwise found in a credible location (Citing sources helps!)
The web page for Wookieepedia is here:
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
As Wookieepedia is able to be edited and modified by users like ourselves, we ask that you do not abuse this. If you REALLY want a superweapon that badly, we can work something out. Don`t go ruining the Wiki`s pages just to create a loophole.
More will be added if necessary, thank you for following the rules.
